Onyx Hack Symtoys The Best Software For Your Drivers Not BeingI too have been very frustrated with the drivers not being updated since 2012.We have been corresponding for about a month and he assures me that this is going to be fixed soon.
My onyx firewire card is supported by core audio apparently ( see below chart ) but in reality it drove me nuts. It would randomly cause no audio to pass and white noise important session is game over, come back the next day and its working again until a critical point a few days later, then same problem again. I contacted mackie about my onyx firewire card and they said it had never been tested on my OSX 10.7.5 then i found this This link appears to show mackie do not support past osx 10.8 and windows 7: crazy. I dont understand why they even sold them all that time if they didnt bother to support current OS not good. Its a shame as my onyx mixer is pretty good with decent preamps. At least IT doesnt need driver support I moved on from mackie as an interface a while ago but i feel for people here. Onyx Hack Symtoys The Best Software For Your Windows 10 Or MacMy 820i no longer works for Windows 10 or Mac OSx (I had the earlier firmware version which did not support Windows 10). So my solution that works a treat for all of my requirements (we do light-weight video production). I have made the 820i an analogue desk and have its Balanced Master Outs plugged into the two Inputs on a Focus Scarlett 2i2. It then uses USB and talks a treat at 24bit 96KHz and two very smooth mic pre-amp inputs. Works perfect with both my Macbook Pro with Reason and our PC with Adobe Premier. In fact I am far happier with this arrangement than the direct Firewire from the 820i as it allows us to go on-the-road a lot easier for interviews with just the i2i and two mics. ![]() As time moves on and we get some more s I think Ill replace the i2i and 820i with a 8i18, just love those smooth mic pre-amps. I know this thread is old, and most of you will already have figured this out. But for completeness, heres a like to a discussion on Reddit. It offers a solution that works (tested it myself on a Macbook Pro) and that is not too cumbersome to achieve. Speckhead, you said the driver might happen in weeks in Jan this year, its now july and still nothing, at what point do we give up. Not sure if anyone has checked in a while but I am pretty positive Mackie just released drivers for the Onyx i series mixers. I was searching through their support site and came up on a file that said Onyx I 2016. I believe the link to the page is here but I would suggest checking the downloads section of Mackies support page.
